6 ways to get rid of dirty marks on kitchen floor tiles and how to protect them

Kitchen tile floors are often the first things people see when entering a home. They’re usually shiny and clean, but that doesn’t mean they stay that way. Even if you clean the kitchen regularly, dirt and spills will eventually accumulate on your floor tiles.

But with these six easy steps, you can keep your tile surfaces sparkling for years to come:

1) Make sure there is at least one rubber mat in front of each door or entryway into the kitchen (to protect against dirt from shoes).

2) Keep a bucket of hot water mixed with vinegar by your sink so it’s ready to use for any accidental spills.

3) Use baking soda as an abrasive cleaner for tough stains and dirt build-up.

4) Inspect your tile grout lines and use a toothbrush to clean any dirt or food particles that have gotten stuck in there.

5) Wipe down your tiles with a damp cloth after every cleaning to get rid of streaks.

6) Dry the tiles with a soft towel to prevent water spots from appearing.

Even if you take all of these precautions, your tiles may still eventually get dirty marks on them. When that happens, don’t worry – these tips will help get them clean again:

1) Apply a little baking soda to a damp cloth and use it to scrub the dirty marks.

2) Apply a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent to the wet cloth and scrub again.

3) Use a clean, damp cloth to wash away any baking soda residue.

4) Repeat until the dirt comes off.

5) Dry by wiping with another clean, dry, soft towel.

6) Finally, seal your grout lines by applying a grout sealant (available at most hardware stores).

If you take care of your kitchen floor tiles with these simple tips, they will stay looking shiny and new for years to come!
